Perak 2040: Building Perak Sustainable City Foundation

Perak is already on the right path to evolving and spearheading the next phase of the country’s journey towards a sustainable future. Today, Perak is among the most economically active states in Malaysia. Perak has built a strong industrial foundation, relying on manufacturing as a robust engine of growth. The Perak Industrial Development Action Plan (PIDAP) comprises strategies, policies, and action plans to cultivate competitive, sustainable, and vibrant industrial sectors for Perak.

Within the policy framework, pertinent issues regarding the industrial development of Perak were discussed, including investments inflows, incentives and support, technology development and ICT, infrastructural availability and quality, facilities and utilities, entrepreneurial development, skilled labor and training, and types of industries. A swift economic growth is expected in Perak due to the development and achievement of various state-led projects.

In this webinar, the session mainly focuses on identifying and exploring potential business opportunities in a smart city ecosystem, the approach taken to fund and finance Perak 2040 Smart City initiative, and understanding the Goals, Objectives, Strategies, Action Plans and key initiatives to mobilize Green Urban Sustainability in Perak.

Among the esteemed speakers featured at this webinar is Fusionex Managing Director Jacob Isaac, to share his insights on the approach Perak could take in implementing its smart city initiative. He is joined by representatives from Unit Perancang Ekonomi Negeri (UPEN) – Perak, Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPJ), PLAN Malaysia and International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCIEF).
